Aquatic System Design & Equipment Specification
Successful aquatic systems are designed intentionally. We provide aquatic system design and equipment specification services in New Orleans for koi ponds, aquaculture systems, recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), and commercial life-support applications.
Our work focuses on systems that are stable, serviceable, and sized for real operating conditions rather than theoretical performance.
This service is technical system planning for projects where animal health, water quality, and long-term reliability matter. It is intended for systems where proper sizing, flow control, oxygen delivery, and waste management cannot be left to guesswork.
In aquaculture and RAS applications, design decisions directly affect survival rates, maintenance burden, and operating costs. Correct planning up front prevents chronic failures later.
Design Services Provided
What This Service Is
Depending on project scope, design and specification work may include:

-
System layout and flow path planning
-
Filtration sizing based on biological load
-
Pump selection and turnover planning
-
Plumbing strategy and circulation design
-
Aeration and oxygen delivery planning
-
UV integration and flow tuning
-
Heating and temperature control integration
-
Redundancy and failure risk planning
-
Upgrade planning for undersized or failing system

Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS)
We design and consult on recirculating aquaculture systems for live seafood holding, live bait operations, hatchery support, and production systems.
RAS projects are approached with a focus on biofiltration capacity, solids management, oxygen transfer, redundancy, and operational stability. Systems are sized based on stocking density, feed rates, and real operating conditions rather than idealized throughput numbers.

Planning and System Layout
For complex or high-value projects, additional planning may be used to reduce uncertainty before construction begins. This can include site measurement, layout planning, and system visualization to confirm equipment placement, access, and serviceability.
These tools are used when they provide real value, particularly for tight sites, remodels, integrated concrete work, and multi-component life-support systems.
Equipment Specification and Supply
Equipment is specified based on system requirements, operating conditions, and long-term reliability. Selection is driven by performance needs rather than brand marketing.
We regularly specify and supply pumps, filtration systems, UV sterilization, aeration equipment, automatic feeders, heating components, and control hardware. For aquaculture and RAS systems, we also supply bulk salt and consumables sized for continuous operation.

Systems We Work On

Design-Only or Design-Build
Design services can be provided independently or as part of a design-build project. We also support corrective repairs and equipment upgrades where systems were originally undersized or improperly designed.
In all cases, the goal is a system that functions reliably and can be maintained without constant intervention.
Service Area
We provide aquatic system design and equipment specification services throughout New Orleans, with projects extending across Southeast Louisiana for residential and commercial clients.
Request a Consultation
If you are planning a new system or correcting an existing one, we are happy to discuss the project and recommend the appropriate level of design support.
